Approvals ILSAC Motor Oil

ILSAC GF-1

The ILSAC GF-1 standard indicates the oil meets both API SH and the Energy Conserving II (EC-II) requirements. It was created in 1990 and upgraded in 1992 and became the minimum requirement for oil used in American and Japanese automobiles.

ILSAC GF-2

ILSAC GF-2 replaced GF-1 in 1996. The oil must meet both API SJ and EC-II requirements. The GF-2 standards requires 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50, 10W-30, 10W-40 and 10W-50 motor oils to meet stringent requirements for phosphorus content, low temperature operation, high temperature deposits and foam control.

ILSAC GF-3

An ILSAC GF-3 an oil must meet both API SL and the EC-II requirements. The GF-3 standard has more stringent parameters regarding long-term effects of the oil on the vehicle emission system, improved fuel economy and improved volatility, deposit control, and viscosity performance. The standard also requires less additive degradation and reduced oil consumption rates over the service life of the oil.

ILSAC GF-4

ILSAC GF-4 is similar to the API SM service category, but it requires an additional sequence VIB Fuel Economy Test (ASTM D6837).

ILSAC GF-5

Introduced in October 2010 for 2011 and older vehicles, designed to provide improved high-temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, more stringent sludge control, improved fuel economy, enhanced emission control system compatibility, seal compatibility, and protection of engines operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85.

ILSAC GF-6

The ILSAC GF-6 specification is currently in development and will probably be divided into two sub-specifications. ILSAC GF-6A will be fully backward compatible with ILSAC GF-5 but would offer better fuel economy, better engine protection, and improved performance while maintaining durability. ILSAC GF-6B would deliver a similar performance as ILSAC GF-5A but will allow lower viscosity oils like xW-16, taking advantage of the fuel economy benefits offered by the new SAE 16 viscosity grade.

Toyota Verso Generations

Toyota Verso 2013 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), 2st generation

Toyota renamed its Corolla Verso the Toyota Verso in 2013, and even though it was a mid-life restyling, it was serious. The seven-seat minivan was designed with European roads in mind. Its front end has been updated and aligned with other Toyota products such as the Auris. The updated front end also included a new bumper and improved overall aerodynamics. There was room for seven people inside, even if the last row wasn’t all that comfortable. With the rear seats folded down, it offered almost one cubic meter of space (32.7 cubic feet). The car was equipped with a new infotainment unit with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display with navigation system and sound controls. But it didn’t have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The Verso was offered with four engine options. For the gasoline versions, it had the 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter engines with 132 and 147 hp, respectively. For diesel enthusiasts, there were three more options with 2.0-liter or 2.2-liter engines. For the 2013 Verso, Toyota also changed the suspension, which became stiffer and improved the ride on winding roads.

Toyota Verso 2009 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 1st generation

The seven-seater Toyota family minivan was built in Turkey and received a renowned name for reliability from the Japanese automaker. It was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Built on the same Toyota New MC platform as the Corolla, Auris, Avensis, Lexus CT and NX, the Verso was the answer for parents who sent cars to and from schools. It also provides a high level of security. The front of the car looked more like a Corolla than an Avensis. Inside the Verso, there was a dashboard with a dashboard in the middle. Verso was offered with five petrol or diesel engines up to 177 hp, which could move the car and seven people inside quickly enough for those times.

Toyota Verso-S 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 1st generation

The second generation Verso-S hit the market in 2010. In the cabin, the automaker installed the seats higher, but did not become three rows. Two of them were enough for exactly five adult passengers. To improve the car’s interior, Toyota offered a panoramic glass roof option, which was unusual in the small segment. Interior designers have moved the gear selector to the B-pillar for both manual and automatic transmissions, and they’ve also installed a dashboard in front of the driver, with a panel divided into three scales. The coolant temperature sensor has been removed and replaced with a warning light. The 2010 Verso-S had a very curved front end that started at the front grille and ended at the roof. At the rear, the tailgate was vertical, which made the cabin more spacious. Under the hood, Toyota offered a choice of two engines: a 1.33-liter petrol and a turbodiesel, both mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
