Approvals ILSAC Motor Oil

ILSAC GF-1

The ILSAC GF-1 standard indicates the oil meets both API SH and the Energy Conserving II (EC-II) requirements. It was created in 1990 and upgraded in 1992 and became the minimum requirement for oil used in American and Japanese automobiles.

ILSAC GF-2

ILSAC GF-2 replaced GF-1 in 1996. The oil must meet both API SJ and EC-II requirements. The GF-2 standards requires 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50, 10W-30, 10W-40 and 10W-50 motor oils to meet stringent requirements for phosphorus content, low temperature operation, high temperature deposits and foam control.

ILSAC GF-3

An ILSAC GF-3 an oil must meet both API SL and the EC-II requirements. The GF-3 standard has more stringent parameters regarding long-term effects of the oil on the vehicle emission system, improved fuel economy and improved volatility, deposit control, and viscosity performance. The standard also requires less additive degradation and reduced oil consumption rates over the service life of the oil.

ILSAC GF-4

ILSAC GF-4 is similar to the API SM service category, but it requires an additional sequence VIB Fuel Economy Test (ASTM D6837).

ILSAC GF-5

Introduced in October 2010 for 2011 and older vehicles, designed to provide improved high-temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, more stringent sludge control, improved fuel economy, enhanced emission control system compatibility, seal compatibility, and protection of engines operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85.

ILSAC GF-6

The ILSAC GF-6 specification is currently in development and will probably be divided into two sub-specifications. ILSAC GF-6A will be fully backward compatible with ILSAC GF-5 but would offer better fuel economy, better engine protection, and improved performance while maintaining durability. ILSAC GF-6B would deliver a similar performance as ILSAC GF-5A but will allow lower viscosity oils like xW-16, taking advantage of the fuel economy benefits offered by the new SAE 16 viscosity grade.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Generations

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2020 (2020, 2021), 8st generation

In 2020, the appearance of the Land Cruiser has not undergone dramatic changes. The new update was not only about the appearance, but also about the technical part. But it was supposed to look different. The headlights and the whole front end were changed. The bumper was lengthened and curved to better protect pedestrians. The Prado had its moments when it had a chrome grille and when it was black. For 2020, it’s black again with the Black Pack option. Inside, it was equipped with a new infotainment system with connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The automaker said it was new, with faster response times. It took up the entire top of the center console and looked much better than the flat vertical system previously used. Under the hood, the Land Cruiser Prado managed to offer a Euro 6d engine that complied with European regulations. This was an updated version of the 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2017 (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), 7st generation

After eight years on the market, Toyota has updated its fourth-generation Land Cruiser Prado with new engines, a new interior and new technological features. The design team worked on the interior, redesigning the dashboard and center pillar, installing an 8-inch color multimedia screen. The climate control commands were flush with the center pillar. The automaker installed heated and ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger, Available as an option. Inside the instrument cluster, a 4.2-inch color TFT display showed driving, vehicle status, audio system, driver assistance systems, and navigation system. Under the hood of the Land Cruiser Prado was an updated 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine. It offered 168 horsepower instead of 177 like its predecessor. The other three gasoline engines were offered depending on the market. For off-road systems, Toyota kept the 4×4 on-demand system with locking rear differential.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 5 Doors 2013 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), 6st generation

The 2013 Land Cruiser Prado is more of a restyling than a new model. That’s because Toyota knew Land Cruiser fans were happy with the overall look of the vehicle, which is an older, 2006 model. Even though the car had the same shape and, there were some details that showed the differences. First of all, it is the grille, which looks bigger and bolder due to the chrome elements. Completely different headlights, and the bumper was put higher so as not to be hit when driving off-road. At the back the taillights were changed to a new model. But overall the car looked the same .Inside, the driver had a new 4.2-inch TFT screen in the instrument cluster, which showed details when going off-road. There was also a new dashboard with a new touch-screen infotainment system and navigation system. Higher trims for cars with three rows of seats had an additional electric folding/folding button to make it easier.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 5 Doors 2009 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 5st generation

The new Toyota Land Cruiser 150 or Prado for some markets, was unveiled in October 2009. This new medium size SUV comes with an updated look, taking its design cues from its bigger brother the Land Cruiser 200 Series. This new Sports Utility Vehicle from the Japanese car maker comes with a revised all-wheel drive traction system and several aiding electronic systems for its off road capabilities. The interior saw a through makeover as well, with a newly designed dashboard and center console. The Land Cruiser 150 comes with a choice of two engines, either a 3.0L diesel or a 4.0 V6 petrol unit.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 3 Doors 2009 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 4st generation

The fourth generation Toyota Land Cruiser began in 2009. It wasn’t much different from the model it replaced. To some untrained onlookers, this model could pass for a facelift. But it was a new car. From the front, it was hard to tell the difference between the three-door or five-door version of the Prado. Both had the same chrome grille with six vertical slats. From the outside, however, it was clear that there were not only fewer doors, but also a shorter wheelbase for the 3-door version compared to the 5-door version. The short wheelbase of 2,451 mm (96.5 inches) allowed the car to behave better in some off-road situations due to its smaller turning radius and better launch angle.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 5 Doors 2003 (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), 3st generation

In 2002, Toyota introduced a new generation of its famous Land Cruiser / Prado J120 SUV, replacing the six-year-old Land Cruiser J90. The new model, codenamed the 120, offered a 109.8-inch (2,790 mm) wheelbase for the five-door version, which was more suitable for most situations than the three-door version with a shorter wheelbase. Toyota’s designers abandoned their old design and installed bent-up headlights. The large rounded front bumper was no longer metal, but was made of plastic. The flared wheel arches were a statement of off-road capability. As an option, the automaker offered side steps, which helped get in and out of the car, but reduced ground clearance on the sides. Under the hood, Toyota installed two engine options: A 4.0-liter gasoline V-6 and a 3.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbodiesel. The latter was available with a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission, while the former was exclusively paired with an automatic transmission. All models featured an all-wheel-drive system with a transfer case, lockable center differential, and downshift.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 3 Doors 2003 (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), 2st generation

The 2003 Land Cruiser, which was available in 3 and 5 doors versions, was an improvement especially in the technical area where the new SUV got multiple features supposed to improve the safety and the performance of the car. The new Land Cruiser now has an all-wheel-drive system, ABS, traction control and rear air conditioning as standard while the front torso side airbags were available as options. In addition, the Japanese manufacturer added steering-wheel audio controls, auto-door locks and rear audio controls as well as a CD changer and rear DVD entertainment system.
