Subaru XV Generations
Subaru XV 2011 (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), 1th generation
Based on the acclaimed Subaru Impreza powertrain, the 2012 XV was designed as a crossover with increased ground clearance and a standard all-wheel drive system. The car featured high ground clearance but compact exterior dimensions, so it could be used in both urban and farm roads. The chrome plaque on the grille and the fenders on it were part of Subaru’s new image. The headlights were somewhat similar to the design concept with the Impreza. The look and proportions of the hatchback were based on the same great rally car. 17-inch alloy wheels were fitted as standard. To cover the large gap between the wheel and wheel arch, a black plastic overlay was added. Inside, the XV offered room for five adults, but the center transmission tunnel was too obtrusive in the cabin. Its dashboard was arranged differently than most cars on the market. While the instrument cluster was classic, the infotainment unit retained its position on the center console, but there was a special screen for the trip computer on top of the dashboard. XV was offered with three engine choices: two gasoline and turbo diesel. The standard 5-speed manual transmission could be replaced with an optional CVT Lineartronic transmission.
