Nissan 350Z, 370Z Generations

Nissan 350Z Roadster 2008 (2008, 2009), 2st generation

The model, released in 2008, was one of the best cars on the market at the time. The 350Z was available as a coupe or convertible and was a less expensive version of the well-known Skyline. Available interior trim levels included the base model, Enthusiast, Touring, Grand Touring and Nismo. The Nismo and base versions were specific to the coupe. The base level came with 18-inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights, automatic climate control, a full electric package and steering wheel controls. The Touring model added an upgraded Bose sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats and leather upholstery. The Nismo was a limited edition model in which comfort was compromised in favor of stiffer suspension, more precise steering and other aerodynamic improvements. The Nismo was easily recognizable because the wheels had a darker finish than other available interior trim levels. The navigation system was available as a separate option. The 350Z came with a 3.5-liter, 306-horsepower V6 engine combined with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission was not available for Base and Nismo models. As for safety, the 350Z is equipped with standard anti-lock disc brakes and traction control. Stability control was available with the Grand Touring trim.

Nissan 350Z Roadster 2005 (2005, 2006, 2007), 1st generation

Designed as a sports car for every day, the Nissan 350Z offered a confident ride, sharp throttle response, and yet useful cargo space. Both the coupe and convertible received important updates for 2005, such as new features and revised powertrains. The sporty 350Z was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 version 287 engine, and all models had the same sport suspension. Other features included a six-speed manual transmission, a wire-operated throttle, ventilated wheels, ABS with electronic brake force distribution, and automatic climate control and a premium stereo system. The Nissan 350Z was available in no less than five trims: Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. The base version of the roadster had 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-stage airbags, automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks, power side mirrors, leather steering wheel, cloth upholstery and a six-speed manual transmission.

Nissan 350Z 2006 (2006, 2007, 2008), 2st generation

The 350z sports coupe, released in 2006, has undergone minor changes. The exterior was updated with restyled headlights and a new bumper, but the beautifully lowered roof line was retained.

Nissan 350Z 2002 (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005), 1st generation

Slightly less aggressive looking than the 2006 released version, this 350 Z version was the first in a row of ground-breaking coupes. Adorned with Nissan’s signature rectangular air-intake and parallel slim vertical high beam encasements the 2003 launched 350 model can be described as a mass of style standing atop an award winning normally aspirated 3.5 Liter V6 engine packing 280 hp. Torque is also greater than that of the 2006 model, with a max of 363 Nm achieved at 4800 revs. As with otehr previous models, the 350 Z is not only fast but also safe and easy to handle, ensuring great road-control.

Nissan 370Z Roadster 2012 (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 2st generation

Nissan introduced a minor facelift for the 370Z in 2012, and made some updates for the open-top version. At the front, Nissan kept the Z-shaped headlights, but changed the headlights on the inside. Its yellow upper corners for the turn signals were clear on the 2012 model. In the apron, the grille was a simple square shape, revealing a large radiator behind it. At the rear was a new exhaust with the same round tips. The 370Z had a small, cozy cabin with plenty of legroom and headroom for two passengers. The instrument panel had a plain and simple layout and offered decent storage space in the center. Its convertible electric system worked at speeds up to 5 km/h (3 miles per hour). Under the hood, Nissan installed the same 3.7-liter V-6 engine from the non-facelifted version.

Nissan 370Z Roadster 2009 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), 1st generation

The magic of this new convertible was the same 3.7-liter V6 powertrain, which developed 328 hp at 7,000 rpm. The new roadster featured a convertible top system that unfolded or closed in just 20 seconds and was designed with an emphasis on reducing air turbulence and internal noise levels. The convertibles are as balanced as the Japanese automaker accustomed its customers to the previous famous 350Z Roadster model. It was the first car to feature an optional system that controlled engine speed for smoother shifts, called SynchroRev Match. The new 370Z was equipped with a more powerful engine than its predecessor, a 3.7-liter V6 engine that developed 326 hp.

Nissan 370Z Coupe 2012 (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 2st generation

Updated in 2012, the much-loved 370Z looked like a modern version of the 240Z with its low roofline and extended rear fenders. The 370Z was available in three versions: the standard coupe, the roadster and the Nismo supersport. Powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine, the 370Z had 332 horsepower and 270 NM of torque. Power was transmitted to the real wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The 370Z had a small, cozy cabin with plenty of legroom and headroom for the front-seat occupants. The instrument panel had a plain and simple layout and offered decent storage space in the center. The 370Z ran on 19-inch alloys with a beautiful design borrowed from the GTR. Wider tires were used in the rear.

Nissan 370Z 2008 (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), 1st generation

Nissan’s large Z Coupe family of cars has added a new member for 2008, introducing a more powerful version than the previous 2003 model. The 370 Z was the driver’s car, with a center console separating the driver’s and passenger’s seats. The instrument cluster was attached to the steering column, and when it was adjusted, the scales also moved. Thus, the driver did not have to choose between the ideal position of the steering wheel and the visibility of the instruments. As a powertrain, Nissan offered a 3.7-liter V6 engine combined with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, or as an option with a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. For the first time in the industry, when the car was equipped with manual steering, it “clicked” the throttle to match the engine speed when shifting downshifted.

Nissan 370z Nismo 2014 (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 3st generation

Nissan Motorsport International Limited, Nismo for short, took the already fast 370 Z and made it faster. It wasn’t completely hardcore, but it was no longer an everyday toy. The exterior was heavily modified. At the front, a new bumper with a larger air intake replaced the standard 370 Z bumper. A pair of side scoops appeared, accented by red ribs connecting them to the main grille. The headlights have been replaced with brighter LED lights. On the side, the new 19-inch ultra-lightweight forged Nismo alloy wheels from Rays also underwent a restyling in 2015: they got a design with twin five-spoke wheels and a dark gray machined finish. A larger spoiler was placed on the rear of the trunk door, plus two larger exhausts. For the tech department, the suspension has been tuned for better traction and a VLSD (Viscous Limited Slip Differential) has been installed along with a shorter main gear for better acceleration.

Nissan 370z Nismo 2013 (2013, 2014), 2st generation

For 2013, the 370Z Nismo placed red lights inside the car, and a new set of dials appeared at the top of the instrument panel. An AM / FM / CD / AUX audio system with 4 speakers was standard. A Bose package was also available, including a 6-CD changer, two additional speakers (six total), two subwoofers, a Bluetooth hands-free system, an auto-dimming interior mirror, and a universal HomeLink transceiver. No other options are available.

Nissan 370z Nismo 2009 (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), 1st generation

In 2008, Nissan unveiled the 370Z at the Los Angeles Auto Show. But it took another two years before the Nismo version was introduced. But it was a different car. The 370Z was nothing more than an upgraded 350Z with an improved design. The Nismo was the version that turned a comfortable coupe into a track-ready sports car. The car featured a fully integrated aerodynamic package, including a new front end design. A duck design at each corner with small fenders provided more downforce for the car at high speeds. There were special sills on the side that channeled airflow along with the bodywork, which helped control airflow under the car. At the rear, a large fender was mounted at the bottom of the rear windshield, on top of the trunk lid. Inside, the 370Z Nismo offered just two seats. The rear ones in the regular 370Z were for insurance only. A deeply contoured instrument cluster with a full-length center console separated driver and passenger. At the rear, there was an open cargo compartment ready to accept the safety cage. The car was a tuner’s dream. A CD-radio-aux system with 4 speakers was installed.
