The ILSAC GF-1 standard indicates the oil meets both API SH and the Energy Conserving II (EC-II) requirements. It was created in 1990 and upgraded in 1992 and became the minimum requirement for oil used in American and Japanese automobiles.
ILSAC GF-2 replaced GF-1 in 1996. The oil must meet both API SJ and EC-II requirements. The GF-2 standards requires 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50, 10W-30, 10W-40 and 10W-50 motor oils to meet stringent requirements for phosphorus content, low temperature operation, high temperature deposits and foam control.
An ILSAC GF-3 an oil must meet both API SL and the EC-II requirements. The GF-3 standard has more stringent parameters regarding long-term effects of the oil on the vehicle emission system, improved fuel economy and improved volatility, deposit control, and viscosity performance. The standard also requires less additive degradation and reduced oil consumption rates over the service life of the oil.
ILSAC GF-4 is similar to the API SM service category, but it requires an additional sequence VIB Fuel Economy Test (ASTM D6837).
Introduced in October 2010 for 2011 and older vehicles, designed to provide improved high-temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, more stringent sludge control, improved fuel economy, enhanced emission control system compatibility, seal compatibility, and protection of engines operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85.
The ILSAC GF-6 specification is currently in development and will probably be divided into two sub-specifications. ILSAC GF-6A will be fully backward compatible with ILSAC GF-5 but would offer better fuel economy, better engine protection, and improved performance while maintaining durability. ILSAC GF-6B would deliver a similar performance as ILSAC GF-5A but will allow lower viscosity oils like xW-16, taking advantage of the fuel economy benefits offered by the new SAE 16 viscosity grade.

Mazda introduced the third generation of the Premacy / 5 line at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, and it was designed to be the perfect family MPV. Mazda’s front fascia turned into a smiling face with a grille that looked like an open laughing mouth. The headlights were reminiscent of those fitted to the Mazda 3 Series. On the sides, the wavy embossed door panels gave a distinct impression of movement. Despite the large rear end, the trunk door didn’t look like it had been stolen from a barn and bolted onto the car. Its wide V-shaped bottom line and large taillights formed a well-balanced proportion between the metal and glass surfaces. An integral part of the car was the interior, in which the automaker installed seven seats in three rows. The last row was in the trunk and, as expected, could fold flat into the trunk area. The second row reclined and shifted to facilitate rear access. Also, the middle seat could be folded down and used as an armrest or duffel box. Up front, Mazda tried to offer the Premacy a good driving position, regardless of driver height. The Japanese automaker put a wide variety of engines under the hood of the 5/Premacy. Depending on the market, Mazda offered gasoline or turbodiesel versions paired with manual or automatic transmissions.
Mazda Premacy 2008 (2008, 2009, 2010), 2 generation
The Mazda 5, released in 2008, wasn’t anything outstanding, but it definitely served its purpose. Most users who had the chance to drive it say it was one of the most fun minivans ever! As you might expect, the minivan was not built to be fast. The Mazda 5, however, wasn’t far behind either. The maneuverable car with its 2.3-liter DURATEC engine, a Ford engine, developed 153 hp at 148 lb. Kv. The engine was mated to either an automatic transmission or manual. The Mazda 5 used a front-wheel drive system. The car had very good handling, it did not experience any particular understeer and cornered well, which was unexpected for a minivan. The interior was simple and clean, with intuitive, well-lit instruments, steering wheel controls, AUX function, and storage spaces. The Mazda 5 was equipped with power locks and power windows, satellite / FM radio, CDs and multimedia – a multifunction audio system. The plastic used for the interior trim was hard and easily scratched.
Mazda Premacy 2005 (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), 1 generation
In 2005, Mazda was still associated with Ford Motor Company and developed a minivan based on a jointly developed platform. The Premacy was a compact minivan, and accommodated up to seven passengers inside. At the front, the Model 5 had the same grille design as its compact counterpart, the 3. The ovoid minivan featured a beveled front end with a tall windshield. On the sides, the rear sliding doors were unusual for its class. The Ford C-Max, for example, built on the same platform, had hinged doors. The rear of the fifth car had an almost vertical luggage door with a slightly sloping rear window. In the interior, Mazda engineers managed to install three rows of seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Thanks to the long roof, there were no problems with the height of the last row of seats for passengers of average height. The instrument cluster had a similar design to the Mazda 3 and had a high center block with a gear lever or shifter, depending on the transmission variant. A satellite navigation system was offered as an option, while a CD stereo was offered as standard.
