Nissan Juke Generations

Nissan Juke 2019 (2019, 2020, 2021), 2st generation

Unlike its predecessor, the 2020 Nissan Juke looked much softer from most angles, but still stood out from its design competition. Although the Juke was larger and more spacious than the first generation, it was slightly lighter, 23 pounds less, thanks to the clever use of high-strength steel in all the right places. Early in production, the model was powered only by a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 117 horsepower, which was offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. There were no all-wheel-drive versions at the start of sales, either. The Juke was first available with Nissan’s proPILOT technology, a package offering electronic steering, acceleration, and braking that makes driving on the highway and in traffic easier. Using the Nissan Connect infotainment system, customers could effectively use their Android Auto or Apple CarPlay devices through the 8-inch touchscreen display. For the new Juke, Nissan chose the Bose Personal Plus audio system. It includes eight powerful speakers and two UltraNearfield devices installed in the front headrests.

Nissan Juke 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), 1st generation

In March 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show, Nissan unveiled its newest creation, the Juke. The small crossover shocked with its unusual design, but introduced some fresh ideas to the market. The design of the overhead lights for some people installed above the grille may look like Z-shaped headlights. But that was wrong. The real headlights were the big rounded elements mounted in the bumper flush with the chrome Nissan badge. The upper lights were for the turn signals and parking lights. Viewed from the side, the hatchback-style body was visible with a sloping roof line that ended with a small spoiler placed on top of the tailgate. Inside, more details stood out. A center console that mimicked a motorcycle gas tank, a lowered seat, and a crisp, sporty instrument cluster were details more suited to a sports hatchback than a small crossover. The Juke was available with front- or all-wheel drive. Its engines came from both Renault and Nissan, and the AWD traction system was from the Japanese company, as it had much more experience in this area.
