Honda City Generations

Honda City 2020 (2020), 5rd generation

The new City is called the GN, a definitive departure from the long line of GM series. Available engine options include a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.5-liter engine. The 1.5-liter engine now uses twin camshafts.

Honda City 2014 (2014), 4nd generation

Continuing the angular design of the previous generation of the Honda City, its fourth generation debuted in 2014. Under the hood was a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and it was single-cylinder, like the previous one. The fourth generation returned to the CVT transmission, albeit a more advanced one compared to the old “7-speed” multimatic variator.

Honda City 2008 (2008), 3st generation

More handsome than its predecessor, the 2008 Honda City was more angular and better proportioned. It could even be said to have caused a slight trend toward angular and polygonal B-segment sedans. In Malaysia, the City’s powerplant was a 1.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine, and the previous “7-speed” automatic variator was replaced by a more traditional 5-speed automatic transmission.

Honda City 2002 (2002), 2st generation

The second-generation Honda City was definitely not the prettiest car you could have. The proportions were a bit odd, since the City was designed on the GD3 platform of the Honda Jazz. The 2005 restyling managed to give the City a slightly aggressive look. It was the first Honda City to use a CVT automatic transmission, and the launch model used a 1.5-liter i-DSI engine. Later came the 1.5-liter VTEC.
