Approvals GM Dexos Motor Oil

GM Dexos 1

Designed with gasoline engines in mind GM Dexos 1 replaces the GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M specifications. This specification is usually recommended for GM vehicles built for the North American and Asian markets. Compared to ILSAC GF-5 it has stricter requirements regarding piston deposit formation, aeration, oxidation stability, wear, low-temperature pumpability and volatility.

GM Dexos 2

The GM Dexos 2 specification is meant to be the replacement for both GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline) and GM-LL-B-025 (diesel) specifications for the European market. Oils meeting GM Dexos 2 are required for vehicles manufactured from MY2011 onward but they are also backward compatible with older models. This specification is built on the ACEA C3 standard but also contains elements from the ILSAC GF-4 deposit formation test and low-temperature sludge build-up test.

GM-LL-A-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for gasoline engines. Viscosity is SAE 0W-30. Product meets ACEA A3/B3. Drain interval can be as long as 30 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

GM-LL-B-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for diesel engines. Viscosity is SAE 5W-40. Product meets ACEA A3/B3/B4. Drain interval can be as long as 50 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

Chevrolet Camaro Generations

Chevrolet Camaro 2021 (2021), 23 generation

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity is standard, which precludes the need for a cabled connection to the multimedia system. In addition, the available Performance Package is now available with the 10-speed automatic transmission.

Chevrolet Camaro 2020 (2020), 22 generation

A new LT1 trim combines the SS’ V-8 powertrain with LT design cues, resulting in V-8 performance at a more affordable price. A 10-speed automatic transmission is now available with the V-6 engine, and SS models get revised front-end styling. Other updates include a variety of new optional trim and appearance cues, including 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, red or orange brake calipers, a black Chevrolet bowtie emblem, Camaro badges on the fenders and a new color: Rally Green.

Chevrolet Camaro 2019 (2019), 21 generation

All trim levels except the ZL1 have new front styling and lighting. All versions get a new rear look with updated taillamps. A new multimedia system comes with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen, depending on the model. A new Turbo 1LE Package with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual has Camaro SS suspension components, 20-inch wheels and a nearly 50:50, front-to-rear, weight distribution. A 10-speed automatic replaces an eight-speed automatic as the SS’ optional transmission. Forward collision warning and a high-definition rearview camera mirror are available.

Chevrolet Camaro 2018 (2018), 20 generation

The Chevrolet Camaro 2018 with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine adds a new high-performance version to its roster, the Camaro Turbo 1LE.

Chevrolet Camaro 2017 (2017), 19 generation

In 2017, Chevrolet added a new 50th Anniversary Edition and will introduce a new high-performance version of the ZL1, but this model remains unchanged.

Chevrolet Camaro 2016 (2016), 18 generation

The Chevrolet Camaro got its first update in years in 2016, getting 2 new bodies: the SS V-8 and RS V-6.

Chevrolet Camaro 2015 (2015), 17 generation

The 2015 Camaro ZL1, the ultimate street fighter, outperforms the competition but is still a fast and incredibly sporty car. The ZL1 has received some special details, such as a carbon fiber hood and special bumpers front and rear, with unique headlights and unique badges. Under the hood of the Camaro ZL1 is a 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 engine that seems to have come to an end. It is no longer available in any other GM car since it was discontinued in the Cadillac CTS-V. It’s a huge engine, producing a whopping 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque, with an exhaust sound that shakes trees and bangs in neighbors’ windows. Yet for all that torque and power, it responds with a perfectly accessible and docile demeanor when driven at quiet speeds.

Chevrolet Camaro 2014 (2014), 16 generation

The Camaro receives several tweaks including new front and rear styling with redesigned headlamps and LED taillights. There’s also a new trunk lid and rear spoiler. SS trim levels get a unique hood and the RS version has a unique grille. The 1LE Performance Package available on SS models gains a unique rear spoiler. The driver information center and available head-up display gain color readouts. Recaro-brand front seats are a new option for the SS and ZL1 coupes.

Chevrolet Camaro 2013 (2013), 15 generation

The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE is surprisingly easy to drive on a daily basis as it combines performance, comfort, and value. It is a worthy rival to the more powerful Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Chevrolet Camaro 2012 (2012), 14 generation

The refined 2012 Chevrolet Camaro doesn’t disappoint in the fast-driving department, but its loud and brutal manner has limited appeal when you’re not in gear and cruising down the highway. Positioned above the SS trim level with the V-8 engine in the Camaro lineup, the ZL1 is a power package with 154 more horsepower than the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. Just as important as the extra power is the unique Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension, large brake package and powerful wheel and tire combination.

Chevrolet Camaro 2011 (2011), 13 generation

Since its debut, the Camaro has succeeded because of its bold looks rather than its general practicality. The Camaro convertible comes with a V-6 or V-8 engine.

Chevrolet Camaro 2010 (2010), 12 generation

The V-6-powered 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is a better car than the V-8-powered Camaro SS. It’s neither more powerful nor quicker, nor does it sound as good, but for what it is, it’s a stronger entry. Likewise, its acceleration and gas mileage give it a leg up on base versions of its muscle-car competitors.

Chevrolet Camaro 2002 (2002), 11 generation

The Camaro is being phased out at the end of the 2002 model year.

Chevrolet Camaro 2001 (2001), 10 generation

In 2001, the engine was boosted to 325 horsepower, with terrific torque under hard acceleration. But not only is this engine powerful, it’s smooth and easy to drive at both low and high speeds. And thanks to the six-speed transmission, this beast does consume decent gasoline, at least on the highway.

Chevrolet Camaro 2000 (2000), 9 generation

Camaro comes as a hatchback coupe and a convertible, both with aggressive, muscular styling that is a hallmark of the brand. The overall length of 193.5 inches is a few inches longer than the Chevrolet Malibu sedan, but the Camaro height of 51 inches is 6 inches less. The convertible power top comes with a glass rear window with a defogger. Removable T-tops are optional on the coupe.
