Approvals GM Dexos Motor Oil

GM Dexos 1

Designed with gasoline engines in mind GM Dexos 1 replaces the GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M specifications. This specification is usually recommended for GM vehicles built for the North American and Asian markets. Compared to ILSAC GF-5 it has stricter requirements regarding piston deposit formation, aeration, oxidation stability, wear, low-temperature pumpability and volatility.

GM Dexos 2

The GM Dexos 2 specification is meant to be the replacement for both GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline) and GM-LL-B-025 (diesel) specifications for the European market. Oils meeting GM Dexos 2 are required for vehicles manufactured from MY2011 onward but they are also backward compatible with older models. This specification is built on the ACEA C3 standard but also contains elements from the ILSAC GF-4 deposit formation test and low-temperature sludge build-up test.

GM-LL-A-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for gasoline engines. Viscosity is SAE 0W-30. Product meets ACEA A3/B3. Drain interval can be as long as 30 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

GM-LL-B-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for diesel engines. Viscosity is SAE 5W-40. Product meets ACEA A3/B3/B4. Drain interval can be as long as 50 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

Cadillac Escalade Generations

Cadillac Escalade 2020 (2020), 4 generation

The latest Escalade comes with two engine versions, the first being the diesel that develops 277 hp, with 460 lb-ft of torque and the second one gasoline, with a V8 engine that develops a whopping 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic.

Cadillac Escalade 2014 (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), 3 generation

It was the most expected luxury car of the year in the U.S. The 2015 model of the Escalade was another luxury vehicle built on top of a pickup truck chassis. On the outside, despite being very big, the Escalade featured a big, chromed, grille with vertical, angular, headlights. An LED daytime running light was continued from within the headlights to the lower fog-lights. From the side, there was the same design idea from its predecessor, with body-colored A and C-pillars, and darkened B- and D-pillars. Like its predecessors, it was available in short or long wheelbase.

Cadillac Escalade 2006 (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), 2 generation

With its second generation launched in 2002, the Escalade became one of the most popular SUVs on the market. If in the past, the engine mounted on the Escalate was a bit underpowered, the new 2006 generation surprised the public with a 345 hp V8 powerplant that satisfied the needs of power-hungry customers. The Escalade offered seating for 7 and that should be of no surprise as it was a full-size luxury SUV.

Cadillac Escalade 2000 (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006), 1 generation

The Escalade was one of the most notorious luxury SUV on the American market. Inside, the Escalade offered room as any MPV on the market. It was fitted as standard with 7 seats. The leather upholstery was a standard feature for all trim levels. The complex, eight-dial instrument cluster was cluttered and raised some eyebrows from its customers. If that wasn’t enough, an additional clock was mounted lower on the center stack, next to the climate control unit.
