Approvals GM Dexos Motor Oil

GM Dexos 1

Designed with gasoline engines in mind GM Dexos 1 replaces the GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M specifications. This specification is usually recommended for GM vehicles built for the North American and Asian markets. Compared to ILSAC GF-5 it has stricter requirements regarding piston deposit formation, aeration, oxidation stability, wear, low-temperature pumpability and volatility.

GM Dexos 2

The GM Dexos 2 specification is meant to be the replacement for both GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline) and GM-LL-B-025 (diesel) specifications for the European market. Oils meeting GM Dexos 2 are required for vehicles manufactured from MY2011 onward but they are also backward compatible with older models. This specification is built on the ACEA C3 standard but also contains elements from the ILSAC GF-4 deposit formation test and low-temperature sludge build-up test.

GM-LL-A-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for gasoline engines. Viscosity is SAE 0W-30. Product meets ACEA A3/B3. Drain interval can be as long as 30 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

GM-LL-B-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for diesel engines. Viscosity is SAE 5W-40. Product meets ACEA A3/B3/B4. Drain interval can be as long as 50 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

Buick Regal Generations

Buick Regal 2017 (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), 6 generation

The model has 51 more horsepower than the old one, as well as a new transmission and all-wheel drive. Visually, the car gets the company’s latest design language with subtle headlights and brake lights, as well as curved lines and sharp creases. It also differs from the standard model with more aggressive bumpers and larger wheels. The interior features heated and cooled massage seats, as well as an upgraded infotainment system and the latest safety technology. Other performance features include Brembo brakes and a tuned suspension.

Buick Regal 2013 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), 5 generation

GM unveiled the 2014 Buick Regal at the 2013 New York Auto Show. There were essential changes to the exterior. The car featured a new bumper design with wider air-intakes on the sides, where the fog lights were installed. The rear bumper was redesigned as well, and it featured two chromed exhausts under the apron. The LED technology found its way into the rear taillights and on the daytime running lights. The three-box sedan version featured an integrated lip-spoiler on the trunk-lid.

Buick Regal 2012 (2012, 2013), 4 generation

The 2013 Regal features a new Aisin AF40 six-speed automatic with Driver Shift Control as a complementary option to the six-speed manual transmission on the 270-horsepower turbocharged Regal GS sedan. This new transmission delivers the same performance as it helps accelerate the car to 100 mph in 6.7 seconds.

Buick Regal 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 3 generation

In late 2009, GM unveiled the 2010 Buick Regal at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The interior featured a new design concept adopted from its European cousins, with premium materials. Under the hood, GM took only the best engines from its European cousin. It offered the Regal with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. The base version featured a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine, while the other two versions had a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Buick Regal 1997 (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004), 2 generation

The fourth generation of the Buick Regal was launched in 1997 and it was marketed as a sports sedan vehicle. Under the hood, the Regal was offered with a 3.8-liter V6 engine naturally aspirated for the base trim level and supercharged for the GS model. Some further modifications were made over the production time and increased the GS model power from a standard 240 hp up to 270 hp. Regardless of the trim level, the Regal was offered with a 4-speed automatic transmission only.
